About Our Business
PathFocus Consulting was born in 2002, and has been providing consulting services to telecoms operators, investors, and technology startups since then.
Now based in Hong Kong, we are supporting TMT sector investors and operators in the Asia Pacific region, as well as in the firm's traditional markets of Europe, Latin America, and MENA.
Building on its past activities, PathFocus provides support and is an angel investor in regional startups, especially in the arena of knowledge solutions and automated business insight.
Who we are
James Carter
Principal
James Carter has been actively involved in the Telecoms / TMT sector since 1994, when he helped develop BT plc's international investments as a project director. Since then he has worked at TIM SpA as an innovation strategist, run a mobile internet startup, and advised a large number of operators and investors in Europe, Asia, MENA, and Latin America on M&A transactions, growth strategy, and market reviews. For the past 15 years, he did this while working at KPMG, where he was a partner in the China Strategy practise.
He now runs PathFocus Consulting, based out of Hong Kong, but with a global remit.
All work and no play...
Entertainment Director
James is an avid skier, and will head to all corners of the globe to try new routes up and down mountains.Â
He also loves eating and cooking great food, and drinking great wines.Â
You can look him up in Sai Kung, when he isn't out discovering new hill trails across the Hong Kong landscape.
